Blurb : Toby Sezeo, the newly appointed time traveler finds himself falling in love with a woman. The only problem is that the woman lived on the same spot centuries ago. Luckily enough, the woman can’t see him when he travels back in time to her because he is only present there as a waveform, but he doesn’t know what the future (Or Past), has in store for him. Assisted by the man who built the time machine himself, for reasons unknown to any one person, will he be able to bridge this gap of time between the past and present?
The tale of a truly enthusiast, a hardcore romantic and a loyal fan. An uncanny description of the future. An enthralling epilogue, binding all the elements together and introducing the idea that we are all characters of the same play, puppets bound by the same thread. A fascinating turn of events, reinforcing the laws of time but defying the concept of time as a whole.
Author: Munmun’s love for writing started in standard six while writing essays. She also started writing novels for her friends when in tenth class. She has four unpublished novels before getting published with this book. An MBA in marketing she helps out her husband in his dairy business.
Review: If you are interested in Science fiction books then it’s perfect for you. It’s an amazing book (science fiction love story), a logical book. It gave us a clear message about how our future is all depended on how we are creating our presence. The language of the book is simple and no grammatical mistakes very well edited and designed.
This is definitely a collector’s item. Don’t miss buying it. Really a great book and cover really njoyed it.
Cover: The cover is showing a black cat sitting on tree branch looking at sky showing its back. Tree with colorful leaves is looking nice. The cover is very neat and eye-catching. The color combinations used in cover are good, the title perfectly matched with the cover theme. The book looks very cute due to its size and cover look.
The author has chosen the different genre, generally new authors don’t chose tough genre as a first choice. Generally new authors don’t choose uncommon genre as a first choice.
Looped is a mixture of science-fiction, creativity, and feeling… I have never seen such mixture of romance and sci-fiction. I know it’s not an easy task to write such quality novel. I can say only one word…’AWESOME’.
Many Congratulations to the author for his first book.

Story:
Looped is an adorable mixture of science, fiction and life although in book it is mentioned as an art rather than science. The concept of time machine is not novel but the story presented here serves different angle of time travelling. “Looped” is basically dilemma of a time traveler who falls in love of a girl from past. The couple of twists introduced in between sezoe’s time travelling journey are interesting to read. The main difference between “Looped” and other time machine related story is that later is focused mainly on discovery of unknown facts of that time.
Characters:
- Foenze : He is the man who spent his life to create time travelling machine to change his past. It is interesting to know his reason for this development.
- Sezoe : The central protagonist who travels to past and falls in love with Lisa.
- Thatooton : He is friend of Sezoe and he has done a very good job in very limited space.
- Will : Will is Lisa’s boyfriend & he didn’t get enough space to do anything with story apart from epilogue.
- Lisa : Characterization of Lisa is perfect. She is happy with her present. She is not anxious about future but accept the present.
- Graffiti : Short, sweet and also interesting character of this story. I liked it and also story behind his name.
Cover:
At first look, cover is attracting. It is beautifully designed with proper set of colors. After reading complete book when I looked it again, I found that cover itself tells too much about the story.
Ups:
- Beautiful imagination of science and fiction.
- Some of the dialogues are interesting and entertaining as well. I like few dialogues of Sezoe & Robo, Sezoe & Lisa and also Sezoe & Thatanoon.
- Story is short and it is not chewed much to increase the size of the book.
Downs:
- Story starts rolling out with very less background information. Author may have assumed that reader is technically very sound to understand techno words & it creates boredom until chapter 5 (Thanks to very short length of chapters. Book contains 30 chapters in 210 pages.) where you will get exact idea about what author tried to convey until now.
My picks:
“There is no loss in the world that we cannot recover from”
“I needed a friend to forget about myself, you needed one to discover yourself.”
“God gave us brains to simplify and what we do first is complicate every goddamn process”
And many more…
Overall Rating:
4/5
If we ignore flaws in initial few chapters and unexpected climax of the story, “Looped” is a perfect to read.

So here is a book which defies all genres. A love story which moves to and fro in the most unexpected manner. Why unexpected? Because it moves back and forth in time. A time traveller’s story who falls in love with a girl in the past.
REVIEW:
The story revolves around Toby Sezoe, a time traveller who falls head over heels in love with a beautiful girl named Lisa who lived in the past. Toby as a time traveller travels to the past to know about how people lived at that time, to know the lineage of the pharaohs etc. While in the process, Toby rediscovers the feeling of love that had been long-lost in his time as people didn’t care for pity topics like love and care for others. The end is quite fascinating where the author links the characters of the book with various famous personalities and effortlessly explains the crux of our life.
In short the book describes that we are all characters of the same play and puppets bound by the same thread.
MERITS:
- The use of correct scientific principles adds to the charm of the book. For example the book describes that when Toby comes to the past, he is invisible to all as they are transported in waveforms which lie in the ultraviolet band but Lisa has a special ability due to which she could even see the ultraviolet spectrum.
2. The best part of the book is the epilogue which connects the dots. It describes that we are nothing more than puppets in the hands of time and we as wanderers flow in its endless continuum.
DEMERITS:
1.The editing could have been better.
2.The story is quite refreshing and new but it could have been told in a better style.
RATOMETER: 8/10

Cover page :
The cover page is made of effective combination of lovely colours. The black cat in the cover plays a vital role in the book. And the cover page could have been better as it lacks the sparks of attracting readers.
Review :
The story revolves around Toby Sezoe, a time traveller, who falls in love with a girl who was from the past. The plot is further built on how he overcomes this and wins over other issues. The author recieves an applause for choosing a unique genre with time travelling plot. Every character is narrated well with utmost care and the first person narration hooks us up with the story. The author has very well differentiated past and present life. The conversation between Toby and Lisa about the changes in future, makes us to think about how our future will be. This book is also a combination of romance and fantasy in equal proportions. The way the author bridged the gap between the present and past is an exceptional thought. The chapters of Egypt pyramid and the dolphins enact the scenes infront of our eyes. Since the story is fully fledged with technology and science, it perplexes the readers in the middle as the plot is difficult to grasp. The story concludes that no matter how much the technology improves, a man is always bound to his emotions and feelings. The author uses lucid language and it helps to finish the book in a single go.

Hello Loves,
Welcome back to TAL. Recently, I received the book named
Looped by Munmun Singh Nagpal for reviewing. Without further ado, let’s have a look at what this book is about and how was my experience reading it.
My take on the book:
I am definitely the kind that ‘JUDGES A BOOK BY ITS COVER’ and when ‘Looped’ came in the mail. I wasn’t much pleased. At first, I thought the book is about an everyday love story. But then, I read a few parts and realised this is not the usual romantic melodrama that you come across every day. This book is based on ‘Time Travel’.
I tried to read through the first 30 pages, and the story bored me a bit since I am not acquainted with the astronomical, physical or scientifical mumbo jumbo. But, the story hit the sky, after about 1st half. The MC (Main Character) – Toby Sezoe, is a time traveller who has fallen in love with a woman from the past. He cannot see her or vice versa. But the fact that each day turns way more beautiful than before just as he sees her, adds to the charm of this book.
Ratings: I would rate this book with 3.5 stars out of 5.
When it comes to grammar, the book was a turn-off. There were major grammatical errors that would have, otherwise, be eliminated, had the author taken advice from a good editor. The characters could have been developed in a better way and could have had a far more descriptive edge. As the story progressed, the characters fell short of beauty and laid stagnant in the pages of ‘LOOPED’.
The cover of the book showcases a cat sitting on a maple tree branch and leaves that claim autumn. When at first, you cannot really recognise that the cat defines (9 lives, i.e., a loop of lives). However, I believe, a far more strong hold on the cover could have been done with professional editing and designing assistance.
The blurb of Looped by Munmum Singh Nagpal:

Conclusion:
Looped by Munmun Singh Nagpal is an average tale of a time traveller, Toby Sezoe, who travels back and forth to see his love. The story could have had a beautiful twist had the plot been written far more progressively.

Review:
Looped is the kind of book that will keep you hooked on to it until the very end. It is the kind of book that will surprise you at every page you read. A book that will give you goosebumps towards the end.
Coming to the story, it is about time travel. As a child, I was always fascinated with time travel. Reading something related to time travel was satisfying that childhood obsession for me. Looped is the story of Toby who falls in love with a lady on one of his travel expedition. It’s a story of Thatooton who isn’t finding his call in the kind of work he does. He doesn’t find his work exciting enough. It’s the story of Foenze who wants to know why his parents abandoned him. The stories of all these characters are interconnected and hence, the title ‘Looped’. Is it because they work at the same place? Does Toby confess his love to the lady? Why is there a cat on the cover of the book? You’ll have to read the novel to find it out.
The story has been narrated in first person narrative. Toby, the protagonist is the narrator. The authoress has sewed the story perfectly well and it is the narration which engages you right from page 1. Toby and Lisa’s thoughts, Thatooton and his playful behaviour and Foenze’s to-the-point dialogues are worth appreciating. The pace of the story is slow. The incidents have been thoughtfully placed. At times, you will wonder whether you are watching some movie. I have heard many readers tell me that the book created some effects on them and made them think about it over a period of time. I can very well say that Looped did the same to me.
I rate:
Cover: 3.5/5
Characters: 4/5
Story: 4.5/5
My overall rating for ‘Looped’ is 4.5/5 stars.

A word about the Author, her love for writing started in standard six while writing essays. She also started writing novels for her friends when in tenth class. She has four unpublished novels before getting published with this book.
An MBA in marketing she helps out her husband in his dairy business .
Now Looped that’s what I got when I started the book.
The book is based on Time Travel to the past and it took me time to get used to the technical mumbo jumbo.
But then came an absolutely fascinating story of the Time Traveller, Toby Sezoe, falling in love with a woman from centuries past.
An intriguing story of what the future or past holds for Toby forms the crux of this endearing tale of love.
She cant see him, he can’t feel her and still the author weaves together a wonderful bond of love between the two spanning across time. A really superb must read.
Grab your copy and find out does Toby find his love,is there a way the two could get united???

Cover :
‘A black cat sitting on a branch looking at the sky’… When I started reading the novel I couldn’t make any connection to the cover. But at the end it’s totally justified. And indeed it’s a good one, with light colors. Yeah it could have been better but still it’s cool.
So, for cover = 4/5
Book Review : Looped, a science-fiction, story of a time traveler named Sezeo. Who fell head over heels for a woman in past, shows that LOVE KNOWS NO BOUNDS.
Initially the story starts on bit of a tedious side, but just after few pages it starts gripping the reader. It’s sci-fictional theme and concept of time traveling is something we don’t find everywhere.
It talks about future and past way of living. It talks about Taj Mahal, Pyramids of Egypts and many more other things. But above all it talks about LOVE.
First person narrative is used for this novel. And some lines are really beautiful which I loved the most personally.
“Can’t we do something that would benefit each living creature? Why are we always concerned with humanity? Sometimes, not even that. If I say this loud, I’d be mocked, but that does not stop me from thinking all this.”
“I needed a friend to forget about myself, you needed one to discover yourself.”
“If this hasn’t always been, it will not always be. It will pass. There is no loss in the world that we can’t recover from. When we reach a certain point in sadness, the epitome, we realize the cost. We have to choose whether we’ll be able to take more of this or should we just forget about what happened and start afresh.”
If you love science-fiction…. Read it.
If you love creativity…. Read it.
If you want to feel something in you…. Read it.
It’s not a perfect novel, or a masterpiece. But certainly MORE THAN WORTH READING
Really a praise worthy novel, and an awesome debut work by the author.

Looped, a novel by Munmun Singh Nagpal, is published by BeingShakespeare.com. The cover is very neat and eye-pleasing. The soothing tinge of blue forms the backdrop and gives a perception of a sky with clouds. A silhouette of a cat sitting on a branch of a tree adds to the mystic sense of the cover. Further, the red-brown leaves hint at autumn season.
The blurb reads as, “Toby Sezoe, the newly appointed time traveller finds himself falling in love with a woman. The only problem is that the woman lived on the same spot centuries ago. Luckily enough, the woman can’t see him when he travels back in time to her because he is only present there as waveform, but he doesn’t know what the future (or past), has in store for him. Toby Sezoe is the protagonist of the story. He is a time-traveller. During one of his expeditions in time, he falls in love with a girl. However, the twist in the tale is that this girl named Lisa is from the past. Subsequently, he travels back and forth in time to see her. When he travels in the past, he travels in the form of a waveform and remains invisible for the people in past. The whole plot is then centred on this amazingly unusual love story. It’s a sci-fi tale and will appeal to such readers a lot.
The descriptions in the book are quite uninteresting and fall flat. The language is simple and easy to comprehend. Nowhere will a reader feel any disconnect as the tale finds its grip just after a few pages. However, the obvious grammatical errors really marred the reading experience for me. It was a major put-off. I wish the author would have consulted a good editor for the book. The characters fail to impress as they are stagnant and fail to progress as the novel progresses.
The conversation between Toby and Lisa about future is something to reflect on. The non-sci-fi readers might find it a little dull and too much of information-based story. But the chapters on picturesque descriptions of Egyptian pyramids and dolphins add to the appeal and interest.
Who is Toby Sezoe, how he falls for this girl from the past, how he tries to finally see her and impress her with the help of the owner of the time machine, what’s the future of his love story are some of the many reasons why you will keep turning the pages to find out what happens in Looped.
Further, this 210-page book is good enough to read during travelling. I especially loved how the author has managed to connect and present and the past in the book. Though the concept of time travel is age-old but the execution is fresh. It’s an overall recommended book.

Review:
The story takes place in future. Foenze, A scientist has devised a method of time travel. But the physical body cannot travel. Only the waveforms are able to be sent back and forth in time in a specially designed suits. So the time travellers are mere observers and people in that time can’t see them and they can walk through them. Toby Soeze is a time traveller and he falls in love with a lady from past. As it is obvious they can not meet his situation is precarious. Will they ever meet?
The concept of time travel is shown multiple times in books and movies. But that is mostly American and this is a rare attempt from an Indian author to try this science fiction story.
The time travel process is described thus:
“What happens is, a Time travelled is asked to wear a special suit designed for the purpose, and then he enters the Time Transporter. The Transporter converts his body into waveform and he finds himself standing in another time. The traveller will not be able to touch anything, nor even the ground. He will remain at the level of the time transporter. He’ll be able to move past anything. He will be invisible to anyone, even to himself because the waves do not touch the visible range.
But it is not only a sci-fi but a romance too. Please see this beautiful description of her:
“She was first thing I saw today. She stood there, looking out her window, serene and calm. Nothing could disturb her composure. Her brown locks kept flowing across her face and she stood there, oblivious to the effect. If only I could know what it was that she was thinking, or read her mind, or even see what and how she sees, I would consider myself lucky. She is magical.”
Story keeps moving back and forth in time and keeps you engrossed. The book has a lot of information of process of time travel and scientific jargon. Being an Engineer I like that.
Positive points:
The story is very interesting. English is very good and there are no grammatical. Munmum has a lot of knowledge of science. This has science and romance both and that’s a good combo.
Negative points:
The story is confusing at times. The rules are not consistent from beginning to end. But at the end of the day it is fiction.
Recommendation and rating:
I would recommend it all my friends who like to read fantasy romance. I give the book a 4/ 5 stars (3.0 for story and narration and 1.0 for the effort to write Sci-fi in India)..
